Hey where is D.Arbogast? Haven't see him post in a while, or I missed it.

I’m here. :)

Been distracted with doing work around the house lately...trying to get it all done before it gets too hot outside.

Gene can you make one with a glass mortar and pestle so I can do a transparent blend into an image, a mortar and pestle like
this-
https://www.capsuline.com …y4rDQhiYZBihoCSGQQAvD_BwE (external link)

or this-
https://www.google.com …EwCg#imgrc=jpfO8YaGbleptM (external link):

Well you get the idea.

I can try but you could probably get as good a result if you change the blend mode of the white one to 'color burn'. Keep in mind that unless I just use the outline of a mortar and pestle, it would be difficult to make the interior transparent unless it's blend mode is changed too. Placement of a semi-transparent sig will be more critical in your image as anything dark beneath the sig will make it harder to see.

Here's a quick example of the white M&P using color burn. If you'd still rather have a clear glass one, I'll see what I can do. The 2nd image is the outline of an M&P that can be inverted or colorized and would be the easiest one for you to modify.

Eye AF on the gen 3 bodies honestly feels like cheating. Out with the family at the park just now and it’s just so easy to nail shots of Callum running about the adventure playpark

It is great when shooting one person...it amazes me that it works even with adapted lenses too...

Interesting. I have not used the 55, but interesting that you like it that much.

I think sometimes this lens gets overlooked because people think of it as a 50 1.8, and everyone else's 50 1.8 is $100-$150, so $1000 seems crazy. But in terms of iq it's much more similar to something like the sigma 50 1.4. Couple that with lightning fast after (the AF on my sigma 50 1.4 art always struggled a bit) and tiny, light form factor, this lens is definitely worth the price of admission for me.

A couple of the Auckland Harbour Bridge from tonight on the way home from work.

I managed to get the ferry coming past on the 35mm shot. 30 second exposure.

Gaab both are beautiful! I like the 35mm focal view just a bit more, I think it is because the center 'hump' of the bridge is a bit closer and I just like that anchor in the image, yet at the same time the leading line of the total bridge still carries on pulling my eye to the right and the whole length of the bridge....not as much as the 18mm perspective but with the 35mm I get both. Just me....again, both very pleasing.
BUT something I needed to know, stars are fantastic on the 35/2.8, way better than what I would have bet on. Nice because I have that lens. I call it my universal lens.

There's an 'old fashioned' sepia-like tonality going on here which to my eye is very very nice!
