Thanks!

I was able to get closer than that but failed to execute properly as it was too high and facing the wrong direction + lost light/late in the day. Hoping to get one close up but with the colors showing. That's the goal!

Love the macro use to see the incredible detail of the eye.

Found this guy in the shadows. No time to adjust shutter speed but
the bridge camera did ok I think.

Pretty bird! I've not seen one of those before.

Thanks. A first for me too. So many interesting birds in Central America.

Excellent shot!! For me, the green herons have been sooo hard to capture. I'm jealous.

A few weeks ago I came upon Louisiana Water Thrush, and could not get a shot to save my life. Today, different story, had a super friendly LWT basically strut her stuff while I snapped away in the late afternoon light. Such an awesome little bird, great personality and demeanor.

The dexterity they use to move their food around without arms is amazing...I have seen humans use less skills when feeding themselves...

I was on Pea Island on the Outer Banks of NC with my 9 year old son. We were walking quietly when he turned and pointed excitedly and said,"Dad, look at that bird!" A Red-winged Blackbird had landed on an old salt-blasted branch quite close by and called and posed long enough to let us know who was boss before flying off again. My son got photos with his compact camera, and I found myself almost too close. Happily I managed a few shots. This has been resized but is not cropped at all.
