At what focal length? And which Raynox?

The raynox 250d filter size goes to 67mm, so I needed to step down from 72mm. This has vingetting from 24-70ish. It also doesn't focus very well at longer lengths...

From what I can tell, the Raynox DCR 250 has a diopter of +8. That is real strong, and would only be suitable for shorter focal lengths. But as you found out, shorter focal lengths vignette.

With the RX10 you would probably be better off with a less-strong diopter. The Canon 250D and Polaroid 250D both are +4 diopter (not the same as the Raynox 250). Still better might be the Canon and Polaroid 500D, both with +2 diopter. These less-strong closeup lenses will work better at longer focal lengths, and the longer focal lengths should vignette less. The Canon 500D is not particulary heavy.

I don't have the RX10, so can't try it out for you. I'm interested, though, because an RX10 might be in my future.

Ah cool. I thought that as they were both 250's then they were the same strength. MMmm interesting I might see what else is available at a less strong diopter. Thanks. :)

Really strong 3D effect here Gary. Just a great macro. Colors popping too.
Recent shot? We're still very cold and super super wet here. I'm hoping by mid-May
things might start warming up.
