An unexpected guest at my local pond today! Usually I'm not able to get anywhere near Cormorants because they're out in the middle of a river or ocean, so being within 10 yards of this fellow was amazing. This juvenile let me pretty much move wherever and snap as many photos as I wanted for a few hours, didn't bother him whatsoever. At one point, he was nodding off to sleep... I used the opportunity to fine tune my Micro Focus Adjustment settings for both my camera bodies + extender + 500L :p

This last one makes me laugh, such a quirky perspective... that one school portrait that you hate but your parents love for some reason

North Island Robin, Kapiti Island, New Zealand. Dull plumage, but very friendly.
