I just tested the Godox AD600B (original firmware v2.2) with my Godox X1T-S transmittor (without camera for the moment) and it works.

I have 3 questions :

1> I don't understand is that in the menu you can choose only transmitter "Canon" or "Nikon", no Sony, seems confusing ?
2> Setting up my Godox Godox V860II-S as a slave for the AD600B for hairlight won't be a problem I hope (not tested yet).
3> I saw a video of Tony & Chelsea on Youtube that the firmware upgrades are a pita :)
Are there any important upgrades since V2.2 ?

Next month I have my Sony A7 III hopefully :)

Sony A7 III | Metabones V | Canon 17-40 F4 L | 24-70 2.8 L | 70-200 2.8L II
Sigma 50 1.4 Art | Sigma 85 1.4 Art

Lighting : Godox AD600B TTL + Godox V860II-S + X1T-S
Modifiers: 60cm Collapsible Silver Beautydish + grid | Godox 120cm Octagon softbox + grid
Tripod: Vanguard Alta 253CT carbon

1. I don't understand either, but it doesn't affect anything. Probably just that Godox originally rolled out Canon and Nikon versions, and added Sony later but didn't bother to change the menu. Doesn't affect operation.
2. Can't say - don't have one, but my understanding is it should be fine.
3. Haven't seen that video, but I upgraded mine upon receipt and didn't have any issue. You plug the cable in the strobe, the other end into your computer and run the program. I don't get what's hard about that. I haven't checked for recent upgrades, so I don't know the answer to your question.

EF 135L | EF 70-300 L | ST-E3-RT | (4) Einstein E640s | Sekonic L-758 | Sony A7RII Gripped | Sony A7RIII Gripped | Sony 16-35GM | Sony FE 55 f/1.8 | Sony FE 85 f/1.4 GM | Sony FE 100-400GM | Sony 1.4x | Sony HVL-60M | Sigma MC-11 | Flashpoint Xplor AD600 | Flashpoint AD200 (2)| Flashpoint AD360 | plus too many doodads to list

1. to work with the native Canon and Nikon flash systems reading the manual helps but not 100% clear http://www.godox.com …Godox_AD600B_20170914.pdf (external link)
2. why not just use 2 channels from the transmitter?
3. and like they are experts or something? some struggle, sometimes due to incompetence, more often than not due to the cable
3.b. always worth doing the firmware upgrades

V2.5 - To add the option of wireless ID (C.Fn-ID)
V2.4 - Compatible with Godox Olympus/Panasonic X system and Fuji X system
V2.3 - To optimize battery management

The Canon or Nikon option is for the advanced optic wireless receiver modes, not the radio receiver modes (note the icon showing is not the radio symbol).

The new 600 PRO does not provide these optic wireless modes anymore now.
