I *think* this is a warbler, but I can't tell what kind of warbler. Please help with the ID. Thanks.

From the thin bill I'd agree this is a warbler and I think it has to be a Yellow-rumped, although it does look a bit strange. In my (limited) experience the striking eye-stripe and strong back streaking only really fit a male, but the male's plumage ought to look grey rather than brown. I guess that could be due to the light though.

Just when I think Weja can’t set the bar any higher, he goes and shoots a perfect Redshank portrait.

Got another visit from this feller today. Although it's nice to capture, let alone see a species for the first time, this bugger is very territorial and spends more time chasing other birds away than feeding on my grevilleas.

Nice shots, but is there something wrong with its left eye? The right one in the first shot looks different...

2nd weekend in a row at Assateague Island. This place is birding paradise.

Please excuse the iPhone postings..

My first ever Baltimore Oriole. I was awe struck by how bright his plumage was.. it was if he was a burning ember atop the tree when the morning sun first lit him.
