Thanks! Yes they are not a super common raptor, even here. I think the only place for White-tailed kites is the west coast and a small part of the gulf coast of Texas. I'm lucky that a bunch of them nest along the bay only a couple of miles from my house.

You have a Kite that nests a couple of miles from your house. This hawk lives 1.5 blocks from me.
I can find him or her daily but the problem is the tree cover. We are surrounded by pockets of oaks that
are 100-150 feet tall. They'll will zip from one pocket to another.
What helps is their daily feed of meat I put on the hawk tower out back.
