I get the "Deals" newsletter every day from B&H Photo Video.

Problem is, they are not really deals.

I have checked a few items here and there and discovered that B&H's "deals" are often Amazon's regular price.

Amazon currently has the disc version of Photoshop Elements 2018 for $59.99 (external link). Free shipping if you're prime.

Be aware the software has a strong negative rating - 21% one star.

I would recommend researching and reading before you buy. Even if from B&H

You need to take the one star ratings with a grain of salt. I read every one of them. While some accuse the copy they got as counterfeit and uninstallable, for many others it was a question of expectations. Many people apparently expected a simple to use program that would not require such a significance learning curve. While Adobe has worked hard to simplify the process in Elements, a program as feature-rich as it is will still take some effort to use and master.

They wanted something like Picasa but instead got something closer to Photoshop Lite. And some of those complaints were based upon the fact that the latest version of PS elements now only works on 64-bit machines and they attempted to install it on older operating systems.

Exactly. A few samples from the one-star comments:

  • this is not a user friendly software, purchased to do a slide show and even with "you tube" instructions this was the most confusing photo software i have ever used.
  • It doesn't have simple directions on how to use a mask and other items.
  • The hardest software I ever tried to use ....not user friendly at all
  • This is supposed to be the easy photo editing tool.
  • I think that the program is awful. I am trying to change a gray sky to a blue sky. I read the instructions and watched a tutorial. Still can't figure it out.

Meh. These are the kind of people who would buy an airplane and then complain that there are no simple instructions on how to fly it.

I upgraded from PS Elements 10 to version 18 a few months ago, and considered it a worthwhile upgrade. The biggest thing I noticed was the spot healing brush works much better.
