Nice shot.

All adjustments in LR. Cropped, bumped clarity to about 50 and converted to B&W. Then brushed around the statue and words to drop shadows, whites and black to -100 in the background to effectively, mostly, remove said background. Kinda going for a low key look.

In ACR, B/W conversion, noise reduction, deeper blacks and a very tiny bit of straightening. In PS, crop, sharpen and brightened his face a bit with a curve layer and mask.

A conversion by RawTherapee 5.4 newlocallab branch, with some distortion adjustment and denoising.

I totally forgot all about providing a file. Lol, my bad.

Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge, 6 April 2018

...now compiled into a single, easy to locate thread, that can be added to your subscribe/follow list!

Rules are simple:

  • Download the image file from the current week

  • Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (As many entries as you like)

  • The owner of the original image will choose a winner and runner-up

  • The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link

The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc (Dropbox works well for uploading and linking these large files) The purpose of this game is to be creative and learn new editing techniques. You must give some insight into exactly how you went about editing the image. For example, increased shadows sliders, reduced highlights, local sharpening, white balance adjustment, specific filters used, tone curve adjustments, etc. Comments and/or questions regarding the edits are encouraged.

Shooting at my local drag strip. I will definitely have to go a few times a year. I had a blast!

Fiddled around in ACR but don't remember the settings.
In PS, changed the car color, added a cloud layer with mask, added a Fall Color 3DLUT layer with mask.

Sorry, this thread got pushed down a few pages and I forgot about it. Doesn't help that there was almost no activity on it to keep it on the first page. My apologies.

So without wasting any more time, I gotta go with -Douglas- golden edit!
    Congrats sir!
