Got around to editing some of my Assateague shots from last weekend. Here's my favorite of the Blue Grosbeak:

This afternoon I spent time down at Pennyfield Lock along the Potomac River. Came across this fellow: a Worm-eating Warbler. Handsome little bird has one of the most ugly of names :(

Looks like you are putting my old 500mm to good use! I want it back though...

Beautiful portrait shot. Even his own mother had to be a little disappointed, with a face like that.

Matthew...Both shots are really nice, but this one takes the cake.

Night Heron maybe? or green? I know, sad I don't know.

That's a great shot...sharp, crisp, and nicely composed.

Nice, crisp shot! This is a Black-crowned Night Heron, but a sub-adult bird (second spring?) since the head and back aren't black yet.

Mark, this lens has been so wonderful, it'd be tough parting with it at this point. Now, if you were looking to unload a 600 II and wanted to trade (with extra cash on my end, of course), we could discuss :)

I never got to ask, what did you end up shooting with after you parted with this 500?

Turtle Dove, the first in the UK, where they are rare; the second in Dordogne, France, where they are more common, although you hear them more than you see them.
