I wondered if it could be some type of seed at first, but is it a bug, a nymph or a pupa, perhaps? Intriguing, and I would be very interested if someone IDs it.

I don't know. Of course, all the displays were labelled but I was trying to cram in as many photos as I could before the museum closed so I didn't photograph the label. My bad.

What amazes me about the picture is how much detail that camera/lens captured. It isn't considered one of Canon's better quality cameras so it's gratifying how well it did.

Phacopida is an order of trilobite that lived from the Late Cambrian to the Late Devonian. I can’t believe I remembeeedbthat from 1967. Ha

Wow! I know next to nothing about entomology but I've seen a few bugs in my day and I have never seen such a critter as this. Excellent photo by the way!
