Not a big deal, but I wonder if you could have shot a little later with the trees in the bkg?

I can try next time. The timing is a bit tricky as just out of the left of the frame, there is another group of trees on the close side of the tracks.

EMD GP40-2(I think) (look below for the correct ID) of Alaska Railroad somewhere near Denali NP.

That looks like a pair of SD70 locomotives - the flared radiator shrouds are the giveaway. I think Alaska uses SD70MACs.

Thanks! Nope, not a rope, I was hanging out of the door of the vista dome car. The train was only doing about 20mph so it was quite easy.
