We have a couple of little friends visiting our back yard. His female mate is hiding in the flower bed and I think she likes it for a nest.

There are a great number of people who say the same. I've had both ends of that scale in my hands.

For the most part mine have been good to me.

All these summer type shots with water, grass etc. These shots were taken two weeks ago. Snow has dropped a lot in that two weeks though.

Rod

In case you forgot what snow looks like. The thickness of the layer on the ground is about the same as that on the roof. A little shelter beside the walking trail.

And the only bird I got close to. Not cropped, just resized for posting.

lol ... O Rod it sucks to be in your part of the world right now. Well at least you have the Grey Jay. My personal fav.

I just went through the same thing. But the snow has melted again and today I could clean up the yard without sinking in the mud.

Nice shot. I have seen similar here but never get a chance to get a picture. They are seldom close enough and they don't sit still for very long. Know what it is?

As for the snow, it is amazing how fast it disappears. Just have to wait.

Rod

Gold Finch.. Rod, males are the bright yellow... females not so much. We still have some snow in the shaded spots but for the most part its gone for this spring I hope.

Unlike Blue Jays, Grey Jays (nicknamed Whiskey Jacks) are quite tame. They will take food from your hand. At the cottage they come around all the of time looking for snacks. That snow reminds me of times up there.
