couple more taken recently with my 400mm f2.8 Mk2 addition . Normally would try and get as much DOF as possible however going narrow for me at the moment( normally with 100-400mm and extender at f8) makes for an interesting change....

Image 1 is a very skittish and shy Buff Banded Rail poking its head out of its hiding place.

Image 2 is a juvenile Bush Stone Curlew

I have returned from a long week away to photograph migrating seabirds, many photos to follow later but for now just one here :)

Thanks!
The migration seems really late this year. There was actually relatively little available still.

The best place for warblers and grosbeaks (not yet around) is the lighthouse. The cow pasture and area on the lakeshore around the picnic area usually have a large number of flycatchers but they havent arrived either yet.

Presquile is always a pleasure whether the birds are there or not.

Also the nearest Timmies is in Colborne. There isn’t one in Brighton.

Thanks!

I usually miss the migrations because they seemingly can't be predicted, and my time windows are small. But who knows. :)
