As long as you don't have a power outage you should be fine haha

Fortunate for me, my home is on solar with a backup battery bank. But, I'll be sure the laptop battery is fully charged and disconnect it from the power brick :-D

Fantastic landscape and wonderful view. Thanks for putting the family in the frame for reference. I bet that area is full of raptors. Maybe even Golden Eagles.

Thank you Robert! I'm pretty sure there are some of those birds there.

Thank you Will! Yes it is an impressive large rock. I want to camp over by the small lake and get some Milky Way shots with the dome of the limestone in the frame.

It was a pleasure photographing the historic Fort Sam Foulois House. I shared a link last week to the final images. Here are some of my favorites.

From my client, Fisher Heck Architects:
"Originally built in 1906, this two-story, wood-framed structure is located on the historic Fort Sam Houston Army Post in San Antonio and currently serves as bed & breakfast style hotel for visiting guests to the post. The building is named after US Army Lieutenant Benjamin Foulois, who is credited with flying the first military aircraft from the Wright Brothers, effectively giving birth to Military Aviation. The first test flights themselves were performed just outside this building on the parade grounds of Fort Sam. This history, and many surviving architectural details of the original building, give this place a unique historical charm that is appreciated by it's guests. However, as most older buildings do, they fall into deteriorating conditions over time and eventually need a comprehensive restoration effort to ensure the building continues to serve as a functioning asset to the surrounding community. "

Of the many historic homes in Gonzales, Texas is the J.B. Wells home. The house is maintained by the Daughters of the Revolution of Texas. I'd love to see Alfredo take photographs of that home if he ever gets a chance. The wife of J. B. Wells, Josephine Henry, is my 2nd cousin 2x removed. From what I understand, many of the objects in the home are original and history says that the Colonial candlesticks there had belonged to the James Hodges family and that they were hidden in an iron kettle and submerged in the river during the "Runaway Scrape" for safe keeping. James Hodges was my 3rd great grandfather that Alfredo was kind enough to video his family cemetery for me earlier.

I believe the home is open to the public on Saturdays but it's recommended that the Chamber of Commerce be contacted for tour information.

Mickey, not sure which 135 you personally have I know a couple of contributors have the Sigma or the Sony Zeiss, I happen to have the Sigma as well ads the Canon 200 F2. I purchased the Sigma to replace the Zeiss 135 APO late last year because I was looking for an autofus 135.

I love the output from the Sigma, it's a lens that I can comfortabley use wide open and not have to be overly concerned about the sharpness. I haven't done a good side by side comparison between the Canon and the Sigma but I would be surprised if the Sigma might be just a tab sharper wide open, it's a phenomenally sharp lens, where I find it falls a bit behind the Canon is in terms of contrast, the Canon files are a bit contrastier right out of the camera. Either lens has both pros and cons, much like every other too but what I do know is that both of these lenses will be with me for a long time.

Joe

A bunch have at FM, looks like only ones with problems are Apple users.
I'll use my old laptop I've been using, never bricked one yet. I say old but its Win10 64bit so not really that old.
I always pull up Brian Smith's step by step and go step by step....and make sure nothing can rush me.

Yeah my mac is having issues connecting. Effing high Sierra broke everything
