Ditto! I remember building a superhetrodyne am radio in high school radio shop and that you could buy radio kits like Heathkit from Radio Shack. Remember taking tubes to the grocery store to check them on the tube tester? Ah, those were the days. :-)

And you put stickers on them to tell which sockets the went to.

I got back into playing with electronics as a hobby (as opposed to just for work) about ten years ago when something reignited my interest in those glowing little glass bottles. The photo is of one of sixteen of those tubes in an output-transformerless amp I built from a partial kit in 2013.

Those are the 'blades' in the new head I recently bought for my Norelco shaver. I also photographed my shaver too.

I did use my macro lens to take this photo.
