I recieved my MC-11 a couple of days ago and I've been using it with the Canon 200, prior to that I was using the metabones IV. I'm finding the MC-11 much more stable with the 200, I had a number of lock-ups with the metabones but that might be specific to my copy, it has a bit of rotational play. I haven't tested it with the Sigma however one of the drawbacks of the MC-11 is the lack of a mounting foot for large lenses that don't have their own lens foot like the Sigma. The Sigma is a heavy lens and shooting it off a tripod or monpod would not be advisable in my opinion, certainly with the earlier ARxx models.

i agree ! i was using Metabones V with 200mm too but i found out that Sigma mc-11 works perfectly !

probably, it definitely tracks 10 fps though, was testing it by walking to a stationary object. I have some dance I have to shoot early june, and I think it'll do fine. I may wait for someone to do a straight trade, so I dont have to deal with paying for the conversion. Granted, that may take a while to find someone, but with the adapter doing semi ok, it's not a priority. I'm more concerned about the motors, if sigma is willing to change to an STM motor, I'de do the conversion right away. It's a tad chatty in video, easily my loudest lens in that regard. Not a big deal since I rarely use that lens for video.

the freedom of the 200 f2 wannabe is the weight and size. I tried shooting the 200f2 at a few church events, and while the results were great, it was just a bear to haul and move around.

it'll be fine, I've used much heavier lenses mounted to the tripod. That said, the mkiii models have a 6 screw mount, so it's more heavy duty than older cameras.

I just now updated the firmware on my MC-11 from v. 1.04 to v. 1.12. So far I've played with my 16-35mm f4L and 24-105mm f4L and eye AF and continuous are all working great!

Here's today's campervan project.
I got off work from an all nighter in the hospital and UPS had delivered a Road Shower 4.
You know how water capacity is a challenge in a small camper. We have 13 gallons inside
but the Road Shower gets up to 20 gallons total. Most use it as a shower because you can
pressurize it via a shrader valve to 65psi. We're just going to use it as supply enhancement
and gravity feed when needed to our existing tank.

MC-11 far exceeded the metabones for me on the 200L.

Wow that's a very old firmware, good that you made the update! Would you say there's a large difference in performance now?

I ordered one last week during the sale and it shipped with the latest firmware.

ok so I just got my flashpoint R2ProS... wth kind of trigger uses a plastic mount???

well on second thought the canon version is plastic really too just has a metal piece holding onto plastic with 4 screws.

hmm... never seen a plastic mount before.

I just tried it on the a6500 and it does seem more responsive. However, it has been sometime since I kast used the mc-11 on that body so I'm not really sure how much more it is responsive. Eye AF still doesn't work on the a6500 either. On the a7iii, it's almost native-like. I love that it will eye AF as well!I also discovered the eye AF working with my cheap Samyang AF 35/2.8 FE!
