Good and bad news, the Tamron 28-75 is a hot seller. Tamron is apologizing for not being able to fulfill orders.... looks like it'll be a while before some folks get the lens.

http://www.tamron.com …ess_release/20180510.html (external link)

first the 24-105 by sony, then the 28-75 by tamron. Both sensibly sized lenses, hope these companies get the memo, stay sensible in size and price, and sell buckets.

The 85/1.8 is in my Pelican. I can't see me ever shooting a portrait but for an occasional landscape where
I'm trying to compress the scene it should do fine.

I use the FE85 for anything but portraits ;-)a

This morning I put the FE 28-70 on the Riii and found it does eye-AF. I don't know why I was thinking the 'lesser'
lenses didn't.

Ordered the MC-11. Will compare it to the Metabones V on the trip with the 400DOii AFTER I get some keepers.

eye focus even works on the fe 24-240. and from very far away, i was blown away how well it tracked eyes in moving subjects, im still blown away haha, i shot a wrestling event and i was 4 rows back and had the 24-240 with a flash, for fun i would zoom in a tried eye focus, bam she confirmed focus on a moving subject on a mediocre lens,,,,, still blown away haha

it works very well with the 24-240. I was demonstrating to curious photogs who had never shot the sony system before. Showed them the BB eye AF button and let them test with the only lens I had at the time. They all said it felt like cheating :-P

Just realized that I haven't made any big photo purchases since the a7rIII was released late last year. GAS under control!

I think renting and loaners really helped curb making big impulsive purchases. Very nice to use something for a week or so to mull over whether or not you really need/want it or are getting caught up in hype and what-not.

I'm pretty under control as well, only replacing items, like my tripod and smaller stuff.

my adapted 28-75 will go to native eventually this year I hope.

Sigma 135 to native, ONLY if the video AF noise is reduced/eliminated.

otherwise content with gear. Very low GAS this year, last year was terrible, but paid off :-P
