The adjustable flash is convenient and works well for fill on a back lit subject.

But for a portrait like this id rather take a step to the right and use the window light This was a small area and just out of frame on both side were numerous people that I didn't want in the background. The flash allowed me to get the shot. Natural light for sure would have been preferred.

OoDee Senior Member More info | Apr 23, 2018 15:54 | #1716 I've been struggling with going back and forth between X100F and A7rii. I'm generally more drawn to the Fuji. It's just more fun to shoot with. I like the colors a lot better. But man, I wish it had the dynamic range of the A7rii. The GFX is starting to seem like a really enticing option. I brought mostly film to shoot with my GW690. I also brought my 5D, but the X100t has also gotten some use. I forgot how fun it was to shoot with this little camera. What's the best way to save the battery when it's hanging around your neck? So far I've found that turning it on/off works the best. Maybe that's way wrong? -Dane

Maybe that's way wrong? I always carry a second battery, and then have 3 total for camping. I shot for 5 days on 3 batteries without power to recharge. For that length of time, disable the LCD and use the viewfinder only. And it was turned off while hiking. X100T XT3

Turning the LCD off was one of the first things I did! I don't use the LCD on my 6d either. I need to pick up at least one more battery, but I do have USB slots in my truck so I like that I can charge the camera via micro-usb. -Dane
