You guys were talking about gear recently. I wouldn't mind getting the FE 24-105 as a quality travel lens. Either that or the new Tamron. I also would love to have the Batis 135 and the Mavic Air (or it's successor).

---------------

On another topic, sometimes when I deliver images for a client, they will usually not request any additional changes but sometimes they do. In this particular case recently, a client wanted some signage removed and as much soot removed from the exteriors. I'll show some before and after images. It took a bunch of work but in the end, you have to do your best to satisfy the client. These were from the Medical Center architecture photoshoot.

When shooting for myself, I'm all about primes. I find that zooms make me sloppy in my composition, as I get stuck shooting less interesting FOV's when a shot would have a better look if I put in a little effort to position myself.

Of course for paid work where you don't have a lot of time and control, zooms are an absolute god-send. But even then I try to lean on primes and use two bodies to give myself some flexibility.

Hehe...I haven’t bought any new gear since I bought my FE 35mm 1.4 ZA last year! No future plans either.

Easy for me to say right now: haven’t snapped a picture in almost two months. My home landscaping is all done (for this year), temperatures in the 90s have arrived and it’s finally time for me to get out and shoot. :)

David, glad your landscaping is going well. So far we added 4 yards of soil, 15 yards of mulch, and just got 10 yards of rock delivered today. I injured my back due to a number of reasons, one of which was the extensive yard work and also most recently from working out when I wasn’t completely healed. I’ll be sure to take it easy for the next few weeks. :-(

Ugh...hate that you hurt your back. I’ve got arthritis on my spine and all the digging and rock moving really put the hurt on me too. Happily I’ve since walked off all the pain and haven’t had any back pain for the last two weeks. Hope it stays that way!

The best thing about all the landscaping is that it’s just about cured my insomnia. Been consistently falling asleep before midnight (and staying asleep all night), which is a huge huge change for the better.

Hope you get well soon.

Really nice photoshop work on those excellent photos btw. :)

I didn't use a CPL on these exteriors. I just made sure the sun was not hitting any of the windows. I tried using a CPL on the exterior but it resulted in some weird cross shapes in the windows. I did use a CPL for most of the interiors.

that is a result of the reflective coatings on the glass...CPL's really wreak havoc on window glazing like that.

Thank you Travis. It's hard to see the differences in these lower resolution images but definitely a big improvement in the hi-res versions. What's an ad service? Please tell me more. :)

Glad to hear you didn't suffer too much prolonged pain in your back. That's great you're sleeping better too. Keep walking everyday and stay active.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback David.

I agree with the kids...that image edit looks wonderful. Very cool that the contrail is serendipitously positioned...it lends a suggestion that he’s throwing some serious heat.
