I shot this image yesterday (4/14) during the NC State vs Notre Dame baseball game. NC State went on to win the game 12-2 and won the weekend series.

The weather is starting to cooperate, often double headers to make up for snowed out games so the boys are becoming weary from travel/playing but Blake has since added 4 more stolen bases the last two days breaking our old record by 5 now. We are about half way through our high school season and he is working on a couple other records as well.
Ironically, the record had stood for 25 years and the former player wore the same number, 17.

Thank you. I have field access. In the case of this College team, I am the team photographer. The Coach has given me complete access to the field, which includes shooting from the team dugout. Some of the shots I take from behind the fence at the backstop.

I also shoot High School ball or Little league and I do that for a local paper, which gives me foul territory access, inside the fence. I have shot a couple of HS games at the local Sacramento AAA baseball field. There I shoot from the wells, and have been given access to shoot anywhere behind the fence dugout to dugout.

Ahh - makes sense! I've been shooting my son's bball thru the years and prob 50% thru chain link. Those fields with short 1st/3rd base fences are the only ones where I have a decent amount of keepers. (shooting mainly with my 70-200 2.8L and at times with the 1.4x extender) Appreciate the response!

Local AA team, Springfield Cardinals (STL Cardinals farm club). I just went in as a ticketholder. The early season day games are usually only about 1/3 full, leaving pretty open seating behind the plate.
