Nice work!

I often wonder what the mosquito bite to keeper ratio is for a lot of people on here

Tht day wasn't bad, I was on a boat and they were around but not to excess.

I love these. I saw them in Costa Rica last year and thought they were really cool.

That is getting pretty darn close! Did you use a diopter? Great shot, bright colors.

Thanks Archie. Nope, straight shot without extender. One of the shots from my early days with the lens and it just bowled me over! f14 and no diffraction to notice!

I was lucky enough to borrow a 100-400 IS II from a friend for some track & field shots. Not near the quality of some of the other photos on the this thread but I am just a hobby shooter.

Canada Goose set it down at the beaver lodge. I was in line with the approach path.

The 7DII did a great job of locking on and maintaining sharp focus. This wasn't a challenging test for it but I didn't get results like this with my old 60D. I couldn't be happier with this combo. Canon should consider a camo' finish on these two together as a wildlife kit. I guess it would be a big hassle to offer the different camo' patterns.

This is a tremendous photo!

However, I am surprised to see such strong vignetting, particularly noticeable in the sky - right behind the bird it is a light sky, but in the corners and across the top the sky gets darkened out.

I haven't experienced vignetting like that at all with my 100-400mm, even when I use it with a full frame body. . Why this vignetting happened to you with this lens is a mystery to me.

I completely agree.

I take a lot of time trying to camouflage my gear - it'd be so much easier if it would just come in camo to begin with.

I never realized that you had these smaller, darker subspecies over there in the eastern U.S. .

I never even saw a Canada Goose like this until I moved to the western U.S. . That's pretty cool that you managed to find and photograph one!
