I plan on doing a trip to Ireland and Sicily this summer for a month. I own a Canon Eos 70D and I love it. Last year my girlfriend and I backpacked Europe for 6 weeks and I brought my 18-135mm STM lens that comes in the EOS 70d bundle. It was a pretty versatile lens and I was able to get some really incredible pictures with it, but I want something more. I have the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom lens and its unreal, but it's far too clunky to carry around in my backpack for a month. I need something a little more compact. It doesn't need to be tiny, just smaller than the telephoto.
I love doing all sorts of photography from portraits to landscapes to little street shots, so I need something that's going to be very versatile. I want it to be my new go-to travel lens that can handle anything from wide shots to portraits, to vast landscapes to street alleyways.
I want it to be a Canon. Price limit shouldn't exceed $1,600. I've narrowed it down to three lenses with the links below, but if you know of any others that are better please lmk because i'm totally open to suggestions.
