I was sitting in a hotel room in Rochester, NY on a layover and talking to a friend on the phone about going to Africa. We began searching for an Airbnb and 3 days later we were in Dakar Senegal!

Nothing spur of the moment about you, eh? Nice capture, and I'm betting you have more.

Just some pics from the first roll I've put through my Om-2 since I had it overhauled by John Hermemson in New York . I didn't think I'd have to send a camera from Australia overseas for a good service , Ha.

Between yourself and Mark0159 in New Zealand, that sounds like a pretty strong recommendation for John Hermemson.
Just wondering if the spelling is correct? The closest I came in my search is John Hermanson, who owns Camtech?

The actual business site I found for him is,

That's the fella . Hermanson with an A . I'm pretty sure he trained as technician with Olympus many moons ago . My light meter was under exposing by around 3 stops and the few I rang in Australia didn't want to touch it.

Yea that's the one. I didn't have a lens for the camera as it was one that my brother had and I had brought him a new OM camera. I asked if he had a 35mm and I got a F2 from him.

I only have a 35mm but would like another lens but not to sure what to get.

Any ideas?

greetings to all. I just found this thread & can't wait for the time to read it.

3 years ago, my brother-in-law unexpectedly dropped a Canon AE-1 program in my lap. A year later and the film bug bit. I'm now up to about a dozen film bodies - mostly nikon, but also a canon 1N, an M3 & a 503CX.

I've started developing black & white and C-41 and scanning at home. Fun.

glad to find this thread - hope to learn much!

dale

I prefer the 35 over the 50 , but at the moment I don't have a 35 prime for my film Oly's . If was out with a 35 and had to carry another lens, it would be around the 70 to 80 mm just for a focal length to get a bit closer for a more intimate shot .
