Barbecue Hummer mini challenge.. Don't burn your Steak's
Back lit with a touch of hickory smoke.

Thermometer was Oc this morn.. said 32c on the deck right now.

Very well controlled lighting for backlit shots. Did you use flash at all?

Not a lot of meat on 'em, I reckon!  :p

I was surprised to see that you have hummers in Ontario, although, come to think of it, I do recall seeing a film about one species that migrates so far north : it always arrives before the flowers are out, but uses the sap wells drilled by sapsuckers in the meantime - I think...?

Great shot, Hammy. I love how your Barn Swallows have these orangey-buff underparts. Ours in the UK are exactly the same species but are just white below.

Thanks Jack.. its the sun on what grass we have growing about 25 feet behind him. I have two fighting for territory tonight. as good as it gets for distracted wildlife shooting. He was guarding his airspace.

The only flower in the entire yard. love shooting in the brightest sun of the day.. lol
