I tried searching for a solution for this but I may not be using the correct words. Firefox updated today and now a majority, not all, of the images are appearing like this. I checked in Chrome and all is well. What do I do?

It is possible that Firefox just logged you off? I have never had that problem, but a recent update of Firefox forced me to sign back into all my accounts. It cleared everything. Sign ins, cookies, etc. It is possible that Chrome still works simply because you are still signed into your accounts using Chrome.

Does the TF actually know about the soda cans and PVC pipe from 30 years ago?

That was the first thing I checked. I logged out then back in. I also restarted the browser and my laptop. All to no change

Tested with latest FF (logged out/logged in) and can not reproduce this problem. Make sure you test
- without VPN
- without proxy server

The hotlink error appears when a hosted image is requested from a page that in not part of POTN. When a page is cached outside POTN (excluding browser's own cache) and that cached page requests hosted photos, you will get hotlink protection image instead.

Strange. I am not using VPN or a proxy. Everything was working fine then FF slowed down. I restarted it and then realized it had updated when it gave me their homescreen. That's when I noticed some images that I once saw now shows the hotlink image. Even the image of my screen in my OP is showinf up as hotlinked and I used the image upload button from my phone. Windows10 also updated but that was after I noticed the change. I'll try logging out, closing FF and rebooting the laptop to see if anything changes

Better install free Malwarebytes trial in https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/ (external link) and run it, just to be sure.

It found some pop-up blockers but still no change. I'm going to disable add-ons one by one to see if that solves the issue

Ok, found the issue! I'm guess a PDF viewer add-on updated with the FF update and caused the issue. Glad it wasn't malware or a virus! Thanks for your help Pekka and Philip!
