Helidoc,

Which app did you use to make the antique looking frame on your photo?

Used an older version of on1 software
That has frames as one of its presets

Radial engines don't actually leak oil, by the way. They just mark their territory!

I took this photo last July...one of the pilots in my unit was also a civilian flight instructor. He perished in a light fixed wing aircraft accident. This shot was taken the night before his memorial service, about 1000 feet from the crash site. I coordinated with the aircrew already scheduled for a training mission in that area and managed to grab this one. M5 with 300 f4 lens, aircraft was actually about a mile away to get it "just right" with the backlit clouds. I call it "homeward bound". It looks lovely printed on metal...

If I take enough pictures, at least one of them should turn out...maybe

My BIL began his Army aviation career in an Apache. This is a moving photo for sure.

Agreed. It was a sad experience, but the photo shoot was therapeutic for me and many of the soldiers involved. The unit used this photo on the cover of it's new "battle book", so we can all remember Nick "Turk" Thomas every time we pull it out...
