Heritage units are locomotives painted in the livery of the fallen flag railroads that were all absorbed by the bigger conglomerates. Mostly the Norfolk Southern...

Although I am more familiar with the UP units out here on the west coast. Here is an example of UP heritage unit painted for the C&NW.

A few new ones. BNSF power has been pretty much regular power here in NNJ the last several months. The CSX engine is passing what was New York Central search light signals at Auto 13 in Dumont, NJ. This site was 4 main tracks wide and where the signal's are was a large interlocking tower that controlled the switches along with a large coach yard. All of which is long gone and new PTC era signals are installed to the left.
