Thanks, not sure how easy it is to find RRS stuff in the UK, but I'll have a look.

Do you know if the lens feet are interchangeable? would a 400 2.8ii one fit? I've read conflicting things!

I use a mail forwarder to buy stuff in the US and then have sent over to Australia.

Is that a 400 2.8 IS II? If so then it should according to RRS

Thanks for the suggestions, I've gone with Kirk lens plates until I can make up my mind!

Anyway, first proper go today, not the greatest or rarest but I'm happy for a first go!

Anyone tried this lens with a Sigma adapter or Metabones adapter to A7 series or A6000~A6500 Sony cams? Does the AF work?

I got a RRS foot direct from there site for my 500II, best foot by far (for my 500), they ship direct to the UK @nellyle and don't use distributors, mine took a week to arrive.

This one really surprised me - didn't expect to get anything, handheld 560mm, 6400 iso, in TV at 1/640 inside and through a glass tank

Still impressed with the amount of detail this combo manages to collect, not the prettiest of subjects BUT think it's shows itself off very well.

In case anyone missed it there is a firmware update for the lens on the Canon site, takes about 2 mins if that.
