These are shots taken in Victoria, Kansas of The Cathedral of the Plains. The church was built in 3 years and completed in 1911. Each member of the parish over the age of 12 was asked to give $45, 6 wagon loads of stone, and 4 loads of sand per year to help construct the building. The German immigrants of the area made incredible sacrifices to build the church. Remember that at this time there were no power tools and no cranes. The stained glass has been valued at $1 million. It was selected as one of the eight wonders of Kansas.
