Walking around our national stud with the family today, didn't shoot much as I wasn't really in the mood, for once, but thought this was interesting.

I have an XT-1 as a backup, but I do prefer the X-Pro 2 over it.

Happy to report my insurance company is cutting me a check to replace my camera.

Maybe I'll give the X-H1 a try.

i've been considering insuring my gear.. i started doing the math.. gh5, a7r3, xh1.. plus all the lenses.
didn't realize how much it all added up to.. i mean at home maybe its nice and safe ..
but on vacation? or just even locally when doing touristy things and i bring it all (never use half of it of course)

State Farm Personal Articles policy... I'm not a "pro", so I can still get away with it as I don't make money from my hobby. :D

I pay around $150/year for over $9k in gear for my personal articles policy.

I asked if they wanted the X-Pro 2 sent to them for evaluation (before they offered to reimburse me). They said dispose of it or do as I wish with it. They didn't want it. I contacted Fuji's repair center in Edison NJ. Just from a rough estimate talking to them on the phone, they quoted around $350 to get it repaired. So yes, I'm going to get it repaired, I just won't be able to re-add it back to my insurance policy.

So my X-Pro 2 was insured for $1,750, and that's what I'm getting reimbursed. I'll add the difference to get the X-H1, and maybe in a month or two get the X-Pro 2 repaired. Then the X-Pro 2 will be my backup camera, and my XT-1 will go to my almost 7 year old son.
