I walk by here everyday , twice a day
i've been meaning to shoot it .. I think it has potential.
this is just a shot of the place not Thee shot..

I need to go back and wait for the right person to walk through there..

I'd rather not take the photo in portrait orientation but , it doenst look right other wise .. too many distractions the right and left if I shoot horizontally..

I'll have to go back and experiment..

anyway this is the test shot as far as framing goes.. its probably what i'll go with .. just have to take the time to sit and wait for the perfect character to walk through

Really?

I was only playing with zebra's when I added it to my "star" menu. I just noted that I had to get 50% of my viewfinder with zebra's (100+) filled to get proper looking exposure.

I haven't used this type of function before so I have not found the need for it.

2 stops under exposed in good light isn't a big deal for this sensor. I do find that my brain is wrapped up in getting the exposure very close to perfect when I shoot though. Typically analyzing most of my images in the past year I've really yet to encounter a time when I feel I needed better dynamic range than what I already have in my camera bodies.

I think I'll try to incorporate zebras for experimentation. I'm all for trying new things.

I have flash on my camera often as I know when to spit out some fill flash. I ride FEC and ETTL just like you. I seldom ever miss a shot casually or for hired events.

It's most useful when shooting outdoors with contrasty ambient light and trying not to lose tonal detail and color in the background.

i.e.

Exposed for the highlights using ETTR so the sky isn't blown out:

3 stop push to get a proper exposure on the subject. This is how the shot would have looked if I exposed for the subject in camera...highlights are blown out.

1st time playing around with my new-to-me A7R3. (I wish I would have had him put his leg down in the second shot, that knee behind her head!).

I'm honestly terrible at doing curves and such... though I found the GX8 to be easier to manipulate than either of my 7Ds (of the cameras ive owned) which makes me wonder if its just simply a Canon sensor thing.. I'm looking forward to getting to play with the Sony and see what it can do

Managed to get a few snaps whilst I was out with the family today, so thought I’d share. In general I’m experimenting with landscape and scenery which is a subject that I only really started to take in an interest towards the back end of the year. Currently I am mainly taking photos of what I see And am struggling with the “story telling” aspect of photography. Oh well hope you enjoy
