My favorite dog on the web. Wonderful eyes and personality with good action shots. Thanks.

Nice shots. #2 is a killer. Green winged teal? Beautiful bird.

Thanks.

Common Eurasian Teal Anas crecca.

So I looked up Green winged teal on Wikipedia (external link):

It was considered conspecific with the common teal (A. crecca) for some time but the issue is still being reviewed by the American Ornithologists' Union;[1] based on this the IUCN and BirdLife International[2] do not accept it as a separate species at present. However, nearly all other authorities consider it distinct based on behavioral,[3] morphological,[4] and molecular evidence

They are not easy to shoot

Understatement. They are borderline impossible, I quit trying last year. And I have a barn, with barn swallows...

Cinnamon Teals at Tualatin River NWR in Oregon.

Usually, the cinnamons are pretty skittish but for some reason, they were hanging out close to the shore on this day.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
