Is there? Of course I guess that would mean I could actually power my XPro2 on.

ok I had to turn off the touch screen for focusing. When my face was pressed against the camera looking through the viewfinder, I’d see the focus point change. I’d actually like to be able to turn off all features of the touch screen except for zooming in on playback photos, but don’t think I can set it up like that.... or at least I haven’t seen those settings yet.

Only one of my lenses, 50-140, has OIS, the others (23/1.4, 35/2, 56/1.2) do not. I’m still looking into the settings as to whether continuous or shooting only IS modes... from what I can tell, continuous would always be on regardless if I half-press or not... sort of like continuous focusing, in other words, a battery eater.

If anyone has any tips for optimum settings, please share.

Thanks.

I'm sure you can disable the touch screen for focusing and still use for playback, my little X70 had that option so I'm sure the X-H1 has it.

please don't take this the wrong way.. because i've heard other people complain about this , , with Fuji and every other camera that offers touch to focus..

i've just never had this issue.. I just held the camera up to my face and to make my face change the focus point I really had to make out with the camera:love: :p:lol:

obviously we all have a different way of holding a camera to our face.. I just mad myself laugh trying to get my face to change AF point..:-)

How can I get to know my new camera if I don’t have a gratuitous make-out session with it? :-P

The X-H1 came with a nice beefier strap compared to what I got with the X-T1 and X-Pro2, however my wife had just gotten me the Ona antique cognac Presidio camera strap... so the Fuji one is staying in the box :D

i'll be free in a bit , then i'll take a quick walk around the block with it and see how it does.

I think it will be easier to use the camera if your fingers aren't crossed :). But take you time.....

We are a patient lot.....

No rush.....

We'll wait....

It's fine....

No problem.....

Ok....

So, how did it go?

it works as good as I expected.. . like native? NO !

but well good enough .. static subjects , no problem.. moving? not sure ..
it occasionally hunts briefly(1 second delay , especially with backlit) , depending on lack of contrast..

but it works..
these are some quick raw to jpegs.. none of my usual instagramy touch:oops:

i'm happy with it.. I think ill be purchasing the sigma 50-100 1.8 art soon..

more testing needs to be done .. but so far I like it .. only tested on the sigma..
'
and a pleasant surprise.. I think video AF will be good enough for talking head type video with minor movements..

will try and provide video sample tomorrow

oh.. and I think JJ abrams would be jealous of my lens flare :-P

If Sigma can make these lenses not sure why Fuji doesn't do some fast glass. I know quite a few folks want smaller, lighter f2.8 stuff, but Fuji should also come out with faster ones also. That 33mm f1.0 for example.

yeah this setup definitely isn't for everybody..

its big and heavy..

I don't mind it .. I have smaller options for when I want that .. but my f2 primes aren't 1.8 and they don't range from 18-35.. so it will work for me in some cases..

Fuji , especially , since they are promoting Crop camera as there main , should in my opinion give faster zoom options.. the 1.8 zoom options sigma has , gives us a closer if not identical look to 2.8 zooms on full frame
