This great thread is #5 and the older lounge thread is #6. We beat out the cats!

But look at how many likes the Bird Portrait thread has (208K) vs this Sony Lounge thread has (33K). Amazing.

Cumulatively, this thread and the old lounge thread is the third most popular thread in the forum.

I noticed this the other day. I was looking at most likes received and the top 5 and perhaps the top 10 are mostly all bird guys.

Ya'll bird guys are die hards to say the least. I have zero interest in birds. Really nice stuff you guys post though.

Hey guys, i just now thought to look at this, but i just found out Lightroom 6.xx will not natively import RAW from the A7III

What do you all suggest for a program like lightroom as an alternative? I know I can go the Adobe Camera Raw > DNG and then edit route but I liked the simplicity of just importing in there and then working with stuff plus how it keeps it all organized for me... But Im also open minded and I'm not really interested in playing Adobes games :/

I converted sony raw to DNG using the adobe program. It was a pain in the rear. The way you named the converted files was a chore.

I pay for the LR classic CC now and it's refreshing in speed. Adobe are jerks by crippling LR6 and it's obvious they did that to push users to monthly payments.

Using a 1tb SSD for my raw files and workflow really made a difference in LR6 but I really do appreciate LR Classic CC.

Some time ago, a friend who once managed a bar gave me his leather Kessler dice cup along with a bottle of the same.

Looks so nice, as usual. Signature is especially lovely in this one.

What are your thoughts on DOF and a product shot like this Gene? I think I prefer everything in focus. Maybe some focus stacking?

BTW, I love your product shots even more than your birds, though everything you post is wonderful.

Thanks David. I'm glad you noticed the treatment I did with my sig too.

I don't know why I shot this at f4. Normally, I'd be at f11 at least. Chalk it up to old age I suppose (or laziness ).

You’re going to be making me feel bad for deciding to sell my FE 35mm. Still gonna go through with it, but your shots will always be a reminder to me just how wonderful the lens is.

Took my A9 to the Sonoma Raceway this weekend. I am normally a wildlife/bird guy, but when in Rome...(A 65 or 66 GT350 was my dream car in High School)
