Wow Carlo!! Absolutely fantastic. Love every bit of the image from her super cute expression to the gorgeous background and late afternoon light.

You’re going to be making me feel bad for deciding to sell my FE 35mm. Still gonna go through with it, but your shots will always be a reminder to me just how wonderful the lens is.

Thank you David! Yes I really love the way the lens renders. I fell out of the habit of shooting posed environmental portraits at 35mm and have been more of a telephoto guy lately. I need to use it more often!

Gotta take a minute to show some love to Travis, who as most of you know, shot a wedding with me a few months back.

I finally wrapped up the post work and was really impressed with the stuff he shot. I find myself not using too many of my second shooters shots at times, but the gallery I'll be presenting to our client will be made up of a good chunk of his photos, and very often his photos were better than my own so I used his in lieu of mine :-)

Really tough wedding to shoot too. Mid-day outdoor ceremony, not-quite-golden hour outdoor formals, and then glasshouse of hell ceremony venue. Plus the schedule got really tight and we were able to split up....divide and conquer to stay on top of things.

Here are a couple of his shots:

Mighty kind of you sir...I had a ton of fun doing it...was worn slap out for sure, but I enjoyed it and would do it again. I am just glad that some of the images turned out to be useful for you. I have marked in LR the ones I want to edit...but as is the case lately, I am way behind on editing.

Like everything else with this camera, it almost felt like cheating. Panning was pretty easy and I got quite a few keepers.

I just checked and their site says "Capture One Express Sony is an award winning imaging editor for supported Sony cameras that comes with your Sony camera. " I looked up what cameras are supported and it did list the a7III as being one of them. I didn't look up whether Capture One Pro for Sony supports the a7III yet or whether an update needs to be downloaded.

I also just looked up whether the latest Adobe raw converter supports the a7III and it does. You may need to download the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw.

Yep, ACR does and that is what im planning to do for the time being, i just wanted to check other options out as well. I'm not sure i want to be running 2 seperate programs and having to learn or keep track of 2 programs for both cameras mind you. The issue is that lightroom perpetual is no longer going to be updated, and thus the A7III support wont be integrated into the software like it is for my 7DII. I'll have to run ACR, convert to DNG and then import the DNG files into lightroom. Its not too big a deal (I did the same with the GX7 and GX8 back when i didnt have a new version of lightroom that supported them) but it is an extra step in the workflow and somewhat annoying. I convert all my RAW files to DNG anyways as it saves space without a cost in quality (plus open source) so its not too big a deal and my overclocked i7-6700k can chew through the files pretty fast

But ill definitely check out Capture One as well. I dislike Adobe's business model and i am weary of how heavily they seem to want to push people from the desktop to the cloud

BTW whats an A7III RAW weigh in at? I'm guessing a bit larger than my 7DII file though not excessively

I converted sony raw to DNG using the adobe program. It was a pain in the rear. The way you named the converted files was a chore.

I pay for the LR classic CC now and it's refreshing in speed. Adobe are jerks by crippling LR6 and it's obvious they did that to push users to monthly payments.

Using a 1tb SSD for my raw files and workflow really made a difference in LR6 but I really do appreciate LR Classic CC.

I'm rotating my drives around, i just ordered a 1TB 860 EVO to replace the 500gb 850 and 840 that are my C: and D: drives (Used for programs, mainly games, both are practically fullish because the size of games is growing quickly, several newer titles are 100gb+) I'm retiring my antique 600gb 10,000rpm Velociraptor thats been my drive for photo editing/pictures/documents/etc since its full and splitting it to the 850 and 840 (With photography/video going to the 850 and the 840 getting the rest of the stuff)

Then on top of that i have several other drives and multiple backups of all my photography and important things. More or less my game/program drive is designed to just get formatted and dumped in case of issues or problems cropping up with windows, bad drivers, or just any random stupid problem that i cant solve in a reasonable length of time (It takes me less time to reinstall windows and get back up and running than track down whats causing some odd unique random issue)

Its not nvme but TBH an nvme drive is twice the cost, its still an SSD and faster than my older ones besides.

And yeah, I'm really unhappy how im being treated with LR6.... It was the last version i purchased and probably the last time im giving Adobe money because i dislike subscriptions.

-edit- Also anyone else really hate when you end up in a cycle of upgrade/purchases... IE you bought a camera, now you need to upgrade your PC kinda deal... Yeesh I didnt get the R to avoid that (Because id have an excuse to buy a Threadripper..)

I also ordered a Sony 64gb UHS-II SD Card for my A7III from Amazon for $55. Price felt good.

I keep hoping ill get notice my A7III ships this week, im very excited. Anyone have a rough time frame on how fast they seem to be getting sent to dealers and stuff?

I have similar frustrations. My a7riii files are supported by my standalone Lightroom but not my photoshop cs6. Not as bad as your situation but still annoying. I need to convert to tiff after the Lightroom edits to allow me to do anything in photoshop. I grudge the subscription model but think I’ll end up on it soon. I just need to work out how to save my photoshop actions somewhere and also need to make sure I still have the nik plugins installation file. Once I’ve ticked those two boxes I’ll probably subscribe. £10/month probably isn’t that bad considering what you get for it. I spend more than that on coffee most weeks
