Edgar is definitely a cutie. Very nicely done shot.

Just saw a post about this lens on a thread comparing it to the Canon 400 5.6. The comment was "I have yet to see a sharp photo from the Tamron at 600mm."

I suspect that commenter had seen a lot of images that were shot wide open or were victims of poor technique. At f8, this lens is capable of tack sharp results.

You'd be surprised how few people actually put their equipment through its paces to see how it will perform. Also, maybe it's another form of confirmation bias, but I've seen people criticize exceptional shots just because they were told by the "experts" that a certain piece of equipment was sub-standard. You can convince yourself of anything if you try hard enough.

On that note... excellent shot!

Thank you. And I agree with your points. Poor technique will deliver sub-standard images from even the finest gear.

Definitely. A chain is only as good as its weakest link, and if that happens to be the photographer... ;-)a

Ed, try stopping that lens down to f8 and see what you get. ;)
