The bulls wander a lot, so many times I won't see any when I go up there, but the best time to go is August and September, when the rut is going. Then you can hear them bugling and see the posturing and sometimes head to head combat. Elk Fight Fuji XT-2, XT-3, Sony A1, A7RIV, A9, and an OM-1

It’s also something I think about as I follow some popular photographers on Instagram. Would you say that I have a recognizable/consistent style? If so, can you help describe it in a few words or statements? Thanks in advance for the help. It depends on which arm of your work you are referring to...your architectural work, yes, for sure. I can see a very clear difference in your images than others. Very clean, crisp colors, great comps...I probably pay more attention to those images of yours, they, for me, grab more attention...I am biased given my profession... Website

Its interesting to talk about developing a style...I had a long conversation with one of the presenters this past weekend about that...it made me wonder the same question about my work that you are... Thank you Travis. I think it’s helpful to reflect on this to help us grow. - Alfredo -

I definitely think its important to have a distinctive, consistent style so your photos have a sense of identity. I think of it like music, where there are producers with distinct styles that you can immediately pick out. There's no shortage of great photos from a technical standpoint, so the challenge is to find a way to be consistently distinctive. focalpointsphoto.com

Jun 05, 2018 21:09 | #17318 Charlie wrote in post #18639899 I think the idea behind the range vs aperture was a way to differentiate the camera from cell phones. Cell phones that have dual lenses can practically work like a 24-70, and in low light, I think that's where these cameras are throwing in the towel. Instead, they focus on good lighting where larger apertures are not needed. I played with a friend's RX100V and it's an impressive little camera. When it comes to indoor shooting, I imagine it goes to crap really fast, and I think that's where these types of cameras stop trying to compete. That's a fair point actually. As you all know, I'm having a blast with the Galaxy s9 live focus. It's slow and the masking is often imperfect, but it overall gives me the aesthetic I want without lugging a separate camera around. I'm really excited to see how phone makers improve upon this. focalpointsphoto.com

There's no shortage of great photos from a technical standpoint, so the challenge is to find a way to be consistently distinctive. I think for your architecture shots what stands out are the clean compositional lines and vibrant colors. I can quickly spot your photos while scrolling the forum. But its kind of hard to put these styles to words. There are very deliberate and consistent things I do during composition and post, but I'm not sure how to describe it. I'll shamelessly say that I draw a lot of inspiration from the cinematography of live action Disney movies ![]() One last thought on styles...the more distinctive your style, the more polarizing it is and it's OK if people criticize you for doing something different from what people are typically a fan of. The key is to try not to be typical after all Well said Carlo and thank you. On IG, I'm starting to notice that many images are starting to look the same. I guess there is so much content that it's really hard to be distinctive there. - Alfredo -

Terrific shot Alfredo, you live in such a beautiful city. ![]() Thank you David! I think we were ranked in the top 20 best places to live. Austin was top 5 but I wouldn't live there given the traffic. I really enjoy living in San Antonio. Easy to get around and shooting around downtown is a pleasure. I never feel like I'm in danger even shooting very early mornings. Sorry about the broken link. I had adjusted the contrast after seeing the image here.
