Today was just one of those days where birds magically fly in front of your lens. One out of every twenty for me, most times I'm not that lucky. Perfect weather at a beautiful new birding spot I just found. Best day I've had in a long time :) Not too many free days left: first kid on the way in less than a month.

Anyways, here's a Northern Parula.

Sorry Matt, what or where is MFD? This is an osprey in it's natural habitat, image has been cropped from original to afford a better composition. But yeah, A friend and I were able to get close to this osprey.

MFD is the minimum focus distance of the lens.

The MFD jest relates to how close the 100-400II can focus (~ 3 feet), and since your photo is so crisp and detailed that it looks like you were that close :-)

The reality of the situation hasn't hit me yet, but I'm told it's life changing that first time your little crying bundle is handed to you. Come July 3, I'm certain I'll be shelving the 500 II + birds in favor of my 24-70 for a while :-D
