Today was just one of those days where birds magically fly in front of your lens. One out of every twenty for me, most times I'm not that lucky. Perfect weather at a beautiful new birding spot I just found. Best day I've had in a long time Not too many free days left: first kid on the way in less than a month.

Anyways, here's a Northern Parula.

The reality of the situation hasn't hit me yet, but I'm told it's life changing that first time your little crying bundle is handed to you. Come July 3, I'm certain I'll be shelving the 500 II + birds in favor of my 24-70 for a while

Matt...Yes, it is life changing, but it does not mean you have to give up everything you love to do. You will be using your 25-70 more, and loving every minute of it, but I promise you'll find a way to get out with the 500 often enough.
