Dry season's here now in Australia's wet-dry tropics and the woollybutts, Eucalyptus miniata, are beginning to flower. What a show! This one's on the stone country near Tolmer Falls in Litchfield National Park.

And nearby on a rocky outcrop is an unusual yellow variety of kenbi, Eucalyptus phoenicea. Kenbi flowers are usually orange, like the woollybutt. Kenbi and woollybutt are the main trees from which local Aboriginal people in and south-west of Darwin make didgeridoos, which they also call kenbi.
