I for one am glad you waited. :-) Lovin' the late afternoon light skimming across the countryside and the flowers in the foreground too. Perfect ratio of light to shadow to my eye.

Hey, Navy Doc. How are you? I remember you from years ago in the HDR forum (I haven’t been there in a long time).

Are you still getting legendary shots of the Southwest? Cheers.

This should be my final shot of the Menger Hotel showcasing the front elevation.

This was a bit tough to edit. It's a vertical pano but with a bit of a twist. Here is the sequence.

Exposure blend 2 shots to recover highlight detail for my "bottom" frame.
Exposure blend 2 shots to recover highlight detail for my "top" frame.
Merge top and bottom frames in PS CC and auto blend to complete the vertical pano.
Correct any areas that didn't align properly in the blended image. In this case, there was more than usual so it took some time. Normally, I don't have to correct anything.
Complete my normal editing process in PS CC and Nik

We were there a few days ago and I gained a much greater appreciation for what you did to get this image, especially considering you were not using a Tilt-Shift lens!

Thanks Tim! I hope you enjoyed your visit. The weather has been pretty good especially in the early evenings. Still hot mid-day though.

We had a good time in SATX and Austin. We were there for my granddaughter's graduation from Ronald Reagon High School.

Have you done any interior shots of the Menger Hotel?

Have you considered doing a shoot of the Japanese Tea Garden? It's very well done and a wonderful use of an old rock quarry. We thought it was better than the Japanese Garden in San Francisco.

Tim, good to hear. I live near Reagon High School on the north side.

I've shot some interior shots of the Menger but need to shoot more.

I've shot at the tea garden a few times. Awesome place! I need to go back there as well. Should have gone back in the Spring but didn't make it.

While on one of the shoots in CA...we were waiting on the sun to go down a bit more, so I setup an SR image, 196 frames at 1/4 second...the noise free images SR produces are incredible...fun image, he actually picked it to be edited too...

on A7RIII group in facebook somebody is complaining about the in-camera histogram being off compared to lightroom like we discuss before. Then i read somewhere about trying zebra 107, it works.

for well lit scene, we may not need to add 2 stops more exposure to the right. In low light handheld though, i will add 2 stops using ISO, correct exposure in lightroom or c1 to -2 then it should hide the noise if there is.

I think that is a good thing, so thanks! I have a fairly consistent workflow for pretty much every image I process.

I think I have to give some credit for it...to the Batis Lenses...the rendering of them really has a nice pop to it, and nice sharpness...if only the sunstars didn't look like such a hot mess...

Just want to make sure im getting this right,..
For low light situatuons,
You are over exposing shots by 2 stops? Then correcting in LR to get cleaner images?
