No, your company hasn’t messed up for me ever. Adorama has quick ordering, fast shipment, and no additional taxes or fees. I love this new Sony A7iii. It’s revolutionary for me coming from a 6D.

The 6D is just as capable of getting high-quality images. However, in terms of features it’s not even close. I just spent a week in California shooting scenery and my daughter’s senior photos.

I won’t be able to process the raw files until I’m back in Atlanta, but so far I love what I’m getting straight out of camera. And thankful that Adorama had it in stock and shipped it promptly in order for me to have it on my trip.

Just got mine today, So far ive been very impressed... Did a lot of messing around learning the AF system with my corgis and such, Shot a lot of macros and flowers and stuff too (I have the 28-70, 55 f/1.8 and 90mm Macro.. the 90mm got the most use I think because its most of what i had the opportunity to shoot)

Feels like my 7D Mark II in terms of reaction speed and performance, especially with the AF, and the AF system in tracking doesnt feel worse than my 7D so far

Downside, shooting uncompressed RAW I'm ending up noticing my 64gb card will only get me about as far as the 7D using a 32gb one.. So its something ill be keeping an eye out for. Also the battery is very slow charging... Will probably be grabbing the dedicated external charger instead as it claims to recharge faster (The manual claims the A7 can take up to 285 minutes to charge a battery, the dedicated charger is 150 minutes) It also made my computer cry a little using the Adobe DNG converter to get files i can edit in Lightroom 6 (And my comp is fairly beefy)

I had some fun running backwards with the camera down at my waist tracking Luna and firing away in bursts... Not sure if i got anything really awesome out of it, but it worked lol. Ended the day with almost 1000 RAWS im likely tossing a bunch of (I was doing a lot of experimenting and adjusting, setting the camera buttons and dials up to a way i like, etc..)

Also some fun playing with ISO12,800 in the shade shooting some Bees... if the rear screen is a good indication it looks like 12,800 is easily usable on this

Something i noted i need to get used to is that in bright light with flowers i note the viewfinder makes things look blown out when in reality they are not.

Adobe DNG is an extreme pain to use when you want to get things done in a seamless manner. Lightroom Classic CC is responsive unlike LR6. I am certain Adobe deliberately created LR6 to a brutal slow pig.

A7iii provides super sharp images with zero effort. I still feel Canon's raw files uplifts shadows with the LR "shadow" slider with a higher ceiling vs the Sony A7iii file.

I found using the xrite passport to help pleasant colours vs using adobe neutral. But I'm a guy that likes canon and fuji colours more than the signature Sony colours. I will say I'm diggin' the A7iii but so far with my extensive testing my Canon and fuji seems to be more consistent in AWB in extreme outdoor shooting in bright sun "in lens" or direct sun hitting the subject to open shade during my recent car event I shot. Fuji executed AWB perfectly. I'm still working hard to get use to Sony.

I think i was pretty used to it at the end of it, and i got some really stellar images from my A7III. Really for me its just learning when to use which of the focus modes for the corgis, about where my aperture needs to be for them at various distances, getting used to how the lenses "feel" and being able to judge where -i- need to be positioned and how to get subjects positioned correctly in frame for best results..Keep in mind part of my shooting was a pair of cardigan welsh corgis, one of which is only about 11 weeks old at this point and isnt quite sure on the entire "camera" thing.. lol

Workflow, i agree that really adobe lightrooms a pain in the rear, i use DNGs for all my cameras for the space savings (ive heard it doesnt impact quality or anything.. if im wrong tell me) I dont really wanna pay a monthly fee for the new lightroom in all honesty so im stuck with LR6 for now, I might try Capture One if i end up leaning heavier on my Sony gear but for now id like to just stick with the programs and such i know...

Regardless, these are the first 7 shots i processed out of the camera so far...

I did an update and my Lightroom seems to be handling the files great. I don't really know which version I have, haha, but it can read the A7iii raw files.

You have Lightroom CC, Lightroom 6 Perpetual is not getting an update to add more cameras to its RAW handling anymore. So you HAVE to use the DNG converter to convert the RAWs over to DNG first to work with them. If I subscribed to Lightroom CC I'd get native support for the RAW files but I do not wanna shell out $10/month for it at this time TBH and getting rid of perpetual licenses and a focus on the cloud to me at least is annoying...

Anywho! Second set of photos from my first day shooting the A7III, This time its all the Luna and Ravi action pictures!

Sent my Canon 7d mkii to a watery grave on 6/8, so I figured that was as good a time as any to make the jump to Sony. Ruptured my bicep 6/9 and just had it reattached this past Friday, so testing has been very limited. Received my mc-11 adapter yesterday and was thrilled to learn that my Sigma 35mm Art survived the icy mountain waters, being fully submerged for about 10 seconds.

Autofocus seems pretty snappy with my old 70-200f4L non-IS. Pretty wonky with the Sigma 150-500.

Time to sell off all of @vinmunoz's old EF-S lenses I bought over the years haha.

Cheapy kit lens is honestly a pretty nice, light little piece of gear:

Ruptured bicep? Does that mean it tore off the bone?

Yeah, the tendon ripped off the bone. Had to drill a hole in my radius, tie sutures to the tendon, pull through the hole and anchor to my elbow. So, yeah, life's pretty awesome right now lol.
