I did this deal last fall. Great printer. My favorite paper has turned out to be Hahnemuhle German Etching. I'll use this printer for a particular product--a kind of stylized horizontal format headshot matted and framed.

One thing is to make sure you cut out the correct proof of purchase from the side near the bottom of the carton. None of the secondary proofs of purpose will work (not sure why they even have them).

You get an AMEX gift card as the rebate.

Indeed.
To qoute from the current June rebate form/instructions(emphasis by me):

"Original Proof of Purchase 12-Digit Barcode cut from the box(es) of the eligible printer(s) and, if applicable, camera(s), leaving a hole in the box(es). WE MUST RECEIVE “PROOF OF PURCHASE” WITH CARDBOARD INTACT. DO NOT PEEL OFF “PROOF OF PURCHASE” STICKER(S)."

The secondaries are likely supplied as proof when sending to a service center, or to provide proof
if there's a third-party promotion tied in to the manufacturer promotion.

I've successfully submitted rebates in the past for other items such as computer components
with the stickers peeled off and stuck on to the form(s), but this language is extremely explicit
in meeting the applicable terms.

As always, read and review rebate instructions very carefully,
make sure you are compliant with the terms, copy everything.
Then follow up, and if there is any discrepancy, re-submit your copies.
A resubmittal upon notice of non-compliance, even electronically,
is often a turnaround from 'denied' to 'accepted.'

Also, register your entry online. The instructions provide information--be sure to do that to track its course.

I did just that, a day or two before I received the printer, just to be ready.

Follow-up showed no status change for a while after mailing the documents,
but yesterday indicated an "Audited" status, with today showing me "Payment Approved"
under current status. Dunno when payment will be sent, but considering it already
shows as approved, I expect it'll be sent out quite soon now.

It may be worth noting the differences between Canon's PDF-file instructions
for qualification, and the fulfillment processor's instructions.
I chose to use the instructions provided by the fulfillment processor(acbpromotions.com)
rather than Canon's, in an effort to be more directly compliant with terms.
I do not know if the differences are significant for qualifying.

Canon's PDF says to include:
 This completed claim form.
 Write the alpha numeric serial number of the Printer in the far right column.
 A legible copy of your sales receipt(s) from a participating Authorized Canon Dealer, showing the purchase of new
eligible Canon product(s), with the date of purchase and the purchase price(s) circled, and the name of the participating
Authorized Canon Dealer clearly legible. (Receipt(s) for eligible products purchased under one of the Combination Offers
must show that the products were purchased on the same calendar day and must contain same Billing Information).
 Original Proof of Purchase 12-Digit Barcode cut from the box(es) of the eligible printer(s) and, if applicable, camera(s),
leaving a hole in the box(es).
 WE MUST RECEIVE “PROOF OF PURCHASE” WITH CARDBOARD INTACT. DO NOT PEEL OFF “PROOF OF PURCHASE” STICKER(S).
(SEE SAMPLE UPC BARCODE ABOVE).
 Make copies of all documents for your records.
 Mail all documents to the address in the shaded box.
Their mailing address is:
"Promotion ID: 8191490
Canon Camera, Printer Mail-in Rebate Promotion
P.O. Box 343140,
Memphis, TN 38184"

The processor's information is as follows(when pre-registering):
Include:
*Original white Proof of Purchase 12 Digit Bar code cut from the qualifying product box, leaving a hole in the box.
We must receive the Proof of Purchase with cardboard intact. Do not peel off Proof of Purchase sticker.
*A legible copy of the sales receipt showing purchase of new Canon qualified item with the date of purchase
and the purchase price circled. Receipt must show reseller name.
*Copy of this page
The mailing address is:
Canon PRO-100 Mail-in Rebate Promotion
Promotion ID 8191490P100
PO Box 343140
Memphis, TN 38184

Obviously, it all goes to the same P.O. box in Memphis under a similar promotion number.

As I've always done in the past, I capture images of PDF pages to insert my own text into,
simply to ensure a legible document. I then recompile those or just print, using my own
handwriting(actually, printing) to simply provide my signature whenever specified.
Anything which is not specified as needing to be hand-lettered is composed in an old
version of Paint Shop Pro to ensure legibility on the receiving end.
The other stuff is included as instructed, and I have always made copies.
This process has been fully successful for me, except on one occasion:
When the "DENIED" status showed up on that one, I emailed them.
They responded with 'imcomplete' submission, I resubmitted electronic copies,
and they approved the next day.
Just cross your t's and dot your i's; cover your tracks and you'll be fine.

Hopefully printing a photo will be less complicated than getting the rebate, Lol.

I'm super happy with my printer. I came from a Pro9000II, which is basically the same printer. However, Pro100 has wireless capability, so I can send photos to print from the bedroom. Colors, detail... awesome.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

It's certainly a learning curve if you're not accustomed to such a printer,
but there's no denying this printer is an absolute bargain-bin deal
with the rebates.

If you use LR dl the plugin to calibrate your prints, it helps out a lot.

I don't use LightRoom, but I have downloaded profiles for papers I might use in the future.

Such a topic should probably be taken to another thread, as it does not especially apply
to the subject of the rebate/sale deals on this printer.
