I was getting the A7III's quirks down by the end of the day though. Definitely love how a bunch of the images came out... Still have another dozen or so to go through and process... I was teaching myself the focus modes and just having to learn roughly where i need to be when it comes to capturing my dogs.. Autofocus is fantastic and really my hit rate was on par with my 7D II which is a pretty high bar. Sadly todays light was kinda hit or miss, worked well for the flowers, less so for the dogs... Tomorrow will be better hopefully Love the look on the 90mm f/2.8 Macro too.. The 55 is great too but i did not get the best light when i was shooting it so i didnt get to show off how gorgeous the images look with it The sensor is spectacular, For only having another 4 megapixels the images have so much more crispness and sharpness to them.. Its almost unreal... Plus the difference in isolation ability is huge.. that little Sonnar is reminding me what it was like shooting film Downside? Eye and face detect AF do not seem to work well with the corgis, but it still seems to get the AF in about the right spot most of the time. The RAW files take up almost twice the space of my 7DII and the viewfinder tends to make objects look brighter than they actually are. Gear, New and Old! RAW Club Member

Jun 22, 2018 08:52 | #17768 David Arbogast wrote in post #18648455 Well, after nearly a month of foot-dragging, I finally got my FE 35mm 1.4 ZA up for sale on FM Since I'm mainly a landscape guy (at this point) I don't need the lens as my Loxia 35mm is my preferred landscape/cityscape lens at that focal length. Regardless, selling this wonderful lens is painful. Honestly though, my next lens - when/if I get an opportunity to buy one - will likely be a practical zoom, like perhaps a FE 24-105mm. I don't prefer zooms, but they absolutely have their place and general-purpose one would certainly be useful to me. David, I hope your medical situation isn't serious. Sad to see you sell your FE 35 f1.4 lens. I too would love to have another zoom lens for travel. I have been impressed with the images I've seen from the FE 24-105mm. I am also interested in the FE 100-400 as a landscape/occasional wildlife lens. - Alfredo -

I'm contemplating trading or selling my FE35F1.4 for the 16-35F4. I don't use the F1.4 too often since i'm shooting portrait outdoor. A lot of space to backup usually. hard to let go though. it's really amazing at F1.4 when you use it. i dont follow RE but wouldnt you get a lot of distortion with that lens? wouldnt it be better to stitch if you cant get the whole room into 1 frame? maybe with those fancy heads that remove parallax issues?
