When you log onto Nikon's site to set up a repair you are required to enter a credit card for prepayment of estimated repairs with tax. My estimate came to just under $280. After a couple of days, I got an email, from Nikon, stating they were going repair the camera as a "good will" repair at NO CHARGE! So, i got the camera back repaired, cleaned, grip rubber replaced and firmware updated for no charge! Just wanted to share some good news about a company when they deserve it. Kudos to Nikon!!!! ![]() Glad to hear that. Did they say what the issue actually was? Andrew | Facebook

Great stuff Well I think the heart of the matter was the Aperture mechanism. But yeah...I got a new shutter and grips too. Very kind of Nikon to do it as a good will repair. Paul

Anyway, why is there a thread about this camera, one I've been thinking about for a while now, here on the Canon forum? My small but growing -=Flickr page=-

Jun 27, 2018 18:23 | #615 To answer your first question, POTN is trying to expand it's horizons and not just be a Canon forum. To answer your second question, I've owed both the 7D and D750, as well as a lot of other Canon and Nikon bodies, and the two are light years apart in many ways besides the fact one is crop and the other is full frame. The D750, while it has had it's issues, is hands down the best general purpose full frame camera out there in my opinion. Not to expensive with features, IQ and functionality out the wazoo. One outing with a D750 and a 24-120mm f/4 kit lens and I sold my Canon 5D3 and lenses. I still dabble with Canon gear from time to time, as you can see from the photos I post, but I'm forever in the Nikon camp. The thing you have to think about is do you really want to make the switch. Lots of pro's and con's to research. I would suggest renting a D750 and spend some time with it before making the leap. Same for Canon, rent a 6D Mark II and see how it works for you. For your 3rd question, I don't know that anyone truly lives up to the capabilities or full capacity of their gear. It's a learning process that never ends. #######
