Nice! Character from a movie!

Wonderful waterfall shot as well, agree with Gene on his description.

Today I started shooting Mission Concepcion to document its condition for a client who has a contract to provide historic preservation services for the SATX Missions. I got to shoot from the roof which was cool. I asked if I could arrange for access to the roof to shoot at sunrise or sunset and they said sure thing. It was a lot of work to get all the required shots which are indicated by little arrows on a set of floor plans. I will shoot the interior space on Tuesday after work.

This is one of the cooler shots which I just finished editing. By the way, many of the shots for this project will not have true verticals since that was not the purpose of the project. This made it easier to get the required shots because often I couldn't back up to get an entire wall in the frame for example.

The purpose of the images is to document the current state of each mission. Key requirements are to have proper exposure and enough detail so my client could zoom in and see if new cracks were forming and such. Glad I have this 42MP sensor. The white areas on the roof here are where they drilled core samples to check the structure. Gene would love this place.

Super shot - also, must have been a cooperative spider, waiting while you changed lenses.

Did some camping in UT over the weekend. Got totally skunked for landscape images. No clouds in the sky at all morning and night.
I did visit the Provo Falls, and came away with a keeper or two.

Not super, still learning the Laowa 25mm. I'll say it is way way easier to deal with than the EOS MP-65 it replaced=just much lighter and
the conical shape allows more light to reach subject.

The spider was at the cabin this weekend where we hit a wonderful 56F in the morning. I think temperature was to my advantage, not only allowing
a lens change but I also imaged him with the Oly M1ii+30mm macro and enjoyed in camera stacking.

Fantastic waterfall. Hard shot with the Sun there! I'd have no idea how to pull that one off.

Archibald here is the current supermacro rig. The bar holding the two flashes weighs as much or
more than the flashes :( This wouldn't have been possible several years ago in the first gen Sonys
because the lens mount was not strong enough. I still cradle my hand under the center of the bar where
the tripod foot mounts. There is a plate under the A7Riii and I wouldn't hesitate to put that on a tripod
if I really had too but I can remove the battery grip and put the big heavy bar on the tripod, it is arca-swiss
compatible.

Just up stream about 50-60 yards from my last water fall shot. I tried out some water socks I bought for just this sort of thing. They worked out great! I spent probably an hour or so walking in this river and never really got cold!

i have a basic "flash" question, pretty new to the world of flash so bear with me if i am not explaining it correct, i purchased a ttl flash for my sony a7iii. i was happily shooting with it the other day at a indoor music event, i was using the basic kit lens 28-70. things were going well and got some decent shots etc,
i noticed i had the iso on autoo and she was at 1600 and even 3200 for some shots, this is where i am confused, i manually changed it to 100 and fired of some shots all was good, i assume the flash knows my iso and adjust the power accoerdinly to get the exposure, my question is why would it default to such a high iso in auto with the flash attatched? the whole porpose of flash is get enough light to use lower iso correct?
i shot a different event a few weeks ago prior to me updating the firmware in the flash and all the exposres were at iso 100 so i assume i must have manuall put it there,,,,,but i dont remeber having to do that. i figured it would want to use the lowest iso the flash is able to produce light for. could some one explain correct flash use to me. it worked at iso 3200 and iso 100.

with sony, best not use autoiso with flash.

you dont want the lowest ISO either, you often want to capture ambient. Often indoors, you can set it and forget it @ ISO 800, or you can meter 1-2 stops under and lock it in manual mode. Outdoors is fine to use autoiso in good light. Generally works fine when filling
