It's too quiet in here and has been for a long time. Did AZ photographers abandon this thread? Monsoon season is upon us and I'm hoping to see what others capture.

I haven't abandoned it, James, just haven't seen much worth turning a camera on. A few evenings looked like they had potential, but they sort of blew away LOL Forests seem to be either closed or burning...

I'm hoping for some interesting skies in about a week or two when the monsoon really starts. Fingers crossed for a good amount of rain.

An hour earlier this looked like it was going to be awesome...

Same, trying to find a way to take photos but it's so hot outside. I got a new macro lens so I've been trying to use that for all the photos I take. If anything I've been posting on my flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ryandimal (external link))

Great images, Jeffrey. I've heard the name "The Jug" before, but wasn't sure where it was.

I'm just anxiously waiting for the monsoon...

TYVM, Dixie. Salome Creek is a Wilderness Area that requires a bit of a hike and probably a rubber raft--or the ability to rappel--so don't go in the summer. IIRC, the mountains it runs in and out of are the Sierra Anchas.

NICE sunset.

Thank you Jeffrey. It's a place I'll likely never see in person. I don't get around so well anymore, so I have to live vicariously through other people's work.

James, you found another great spot to hang out for a while.

NOT posting this as a great image, but as a quick snap of weather conditions. This is a power-line road NOT located in a wash, but in a "flat" area of desert. Over an inch of rain in about 20 minutes. I think the monsoon might have started...

I heard the thunder and saw flashes of light early this morning. So I too headed out to capture what I could. This is in Mesa, AZ off Power Rd and Bush Hwy at 5am.

A storm was trying to come into Phoenix tonight but quickly faded. With some luck I was able to get out briefly and capture this image with lightning to the left of Camelback Mountain.
