Tried some new things with the fireworks.

This is from my front yard with the 100-400GM and a ND filter. Get it to a 1.5 second exposure and then start out of focus and turn to focus in the 1.5 seconds.

few more on my flickr and webpage

a few weeks ago I posted regarding this location..

I wanted more for it.. but looks like this is the best.. (if its even better than the last I posted of it)
that I can get from it..
the sign does not light up anymore, except for a small piece … its just not the same any more

Albert Dros had a nice blog post about the Tamron zoom. He recommends adding one to the kit for landscape shooters. I'm considering getting one or the FE 24-105.

http://www.albertdros.com …II-RXD-for-Sony-FE-Review (external link)

It’s a hard choice between those two. My sense is that, especially for landscape shooters who don’t typically need f/2.8, the extra reach of the 24-105mm is appealing. I think I’d like to get one in the next year, if things work out.

OTOH I’ve whittled my lenses down to my essentials, and I’m liking the minimalism of my current kit.

hmmmmm.....Tamron killed it.

I wonder if I can convince them to make a 16-35 f4 with the same materials as their 28 to 75.

Basically, get them to make a very lightweight and smaller Zony 16-35 f4 geared towards the travelling photog versus the landscape artist

Well speaking of the FE 16-35/4 I just ordered one.
I had one, loved it, sold it when I added the 12-24 and 24-105 but the 16-35 sell was something I always regretted. Back then often it would be the only
lens I'd carry...so a redo :)

I was the same up until about 2 months ago. Now I tend to prefer a 2 lens option of 16-35mm f4 and 55mm f1.8. These 2 seem to cover most bases and aren't too bulky either.

this is my go to kit when i travel. if i find a smaller and lighter 16-35 it would be a dream! i was contemplating the 10-18 actually but i cant pull the trigger on it - its an expensive lens i cant justify

12-24.... not sure it's smaller, but it certainly handles better due to internal focusing.

12-24 + 28-75 (or 24-240), and I'm golden. That easily fits into the peak 5L, and when I'm actively shooting, I've got the holster setup with the clip. I just love that whole combination, so fast and efficient, nothing oversized or flopping around, just right.
