Hey, I'm probably in your age bracket but I don't have a beard ![]() Can't post a picture of myself in this thread because I don't have a Sony camera but am thinking about getting just a little one for my big upcoming trip to Europe and Morocco next year. Thinking of getting the Sony A6500 or maybe I will splurge and get the 7r3. Don't know yet. You can see some pics of me on my FB page which is included in my signature. I'm 66 So, who is older? ![]() Inside I feel like a stupid teenager at times! I guess I'm in trouble, my image I bet was with an Olympus--Poof uses the Oly most often. I'm afraid to look or I'll flickr

I'm a LOT older than MM. I'm 73 but remember, it's not the years...it's the mileage. ![]() I like the mileage....but wait, I have way too many miles if you consider my trips around the world...in years, I should be like 256 yo! DavidArbogast Cream of the Crop More info Post edited over 5 years ago by David Arbogast. (2 edits in all) | Jul 15, 2018 22:14 | #18489 navydoc wrote in post #18663533 I viewed the first page of your first architectural firm, Gensler and noticed that most photographs of tall building were taken from a higher than ground level point of view. That would be to help mitigate the vertical distortions I presume. As an aside, my construction background dealt with viewing detail drawings showing plan and profile views rather than artistic architectural views too. Yes! You're absolutely correct that a higher vantage point can really address the problem. Unfortunately architecture can be an especially challenging subject. With people portraits you can have them move to a place that's more conducive to a more flattering lens. But buildings are big fixed subjects that usually have nearby obstructions (necessitating the use of a wide-angle lens) and you may or may not have access to a higher vantage point. If a higher view is possible, or if you can get back farther and shoot with a longer lens, then you really got it made. But too often you have space limitations to shoot in that you have to resort even to a TS-E 17mm lens (pretty extreme at that point). David | Flickr
